The brochure's content will focus on manufacturing applications benefiting from 3D in the PDF context as well as other PDF features especially relevant to manufacturing such as embedded files, metadata, PDF/A (archival), annotations, semantic structures and more.
Editorial content development will be led by PDF Association Executive Director Duff Johnson and 3D PDF Consortium Executive Director Phil Spreier, who will solicit both educational editorial content and short case study contributions from members of their respective organizations.
PDF in Manufacturing will include a limited set of promotional positions. 3D PDF Consortium members have the first right of refusal through October 31, 2019 on the following sponsorship opportunities:
Advertising content must be “substantive” - that is, it should offer specific advice, philosophy, discussion of relevant product features, a case study, or similar. Purely impressionistic content is discouraged. The PDF Association reserves editorial discretion, including requesting changes.
In addition to the advertising placement “Sponsors” pages will be dedicated to listing and describing the brochure’s sponsors and editorial contributors.
3D PDF Consortium members who already have a login to the PDF Association's members-only webstore can proceed directly to reserve a space or contact Executive Director Duff Johnson or 3D PDF Consortium Executive Director Phil Spreier with any questions or to ask about opportunities for contribution to the editorial content.
Integrated packaging. The AEN company is famous for their widgets. Simple, effective and inexpensive, the unique shape and material allows the company to minimize widget packaging, which is key to keeping costs down. The problem: how to find and qualify packaging materials suppliers in each regional market to meet AEN's needs in a rapidly evolving marketplace?
SOLUTION: Design engineers generate 3D PDF files showing only the details relevant to packaging. Candidate suppliers can return questions and comments, or simply print and package directly from the supplied file.
